About the Role
As a New Store Opening (NSO) Captain, you will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our team members through comprehensive training programs tailored for new high-density restaurant openings. Your role will involve executing training materials, conducting hands-on sessions, and evaluating team members' progress to ensure they meet our performance standards and uphold our culinary excellence.
Role Details
- Pay Rate: $22

Responsibilities
Pre-Opening: Heavy Training & Preparation
- Lead an intensive, hands-on training program for new hourly and salaried team members in the weeks leading up to store openings.
- Ensure all employees are proficient in recipe execution, kitchen operations, customer service, and food safety standards.
- Train managers and crew in problem-solving, efficiency, and Wonder’s operational excellence model.
- Conduct mock service scenarios and readiness assessments to ensure the team is fully prepared for launch.
Launch & Post-Opening Support
- Oversee store openings, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to Wonder’s brand standards.
- Provide real-time coaching and performance feedback to team members and leadership.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational challenges in the first critical weeks post-opening.
Post-Opening Performance & Metrics Analysis
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, including speed of service, food quality, execution accuracy, and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct operational audits to ensure sustained success beyond the launch period.
- Align expectations and performance goals with line cooks, restaurant managers, and regional leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant openings, training, or multi-unit management in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in training and developing teams, with a passion for building long-term operational excellence.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to upholding brand standards.
- Comfort working in an ambiguous, high-growth environment, making quick and informed decisions.
- Communication skills, with the ability to provide daily, actionable feedback.
- Willingness to travel extensively (85%) to support Wonder’s expansion.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
- Direct leader must be aware of your interest in this position
- Must be in the existing NSO Trainer Role
- Must have a minimum of 6 months in your current role
- Must be fully cross-trained
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for a full shift while working
- Must have open availability, including night and weekend availability
- Must have the means of transportation and ability to travel from site to site for new store openings (NSOs)
- Must have the flexibility to travel to NSOs during the week and weekends and possible overnight stays, as needed
